Hello everyone, I am writing this post because I am currently looking for new marketing opportunities in China. At the moment I am working as a Marketing Coordinator for GWDC and I have been offered another contract with the company, but I am unsure if I will re-sign. I have my reasons for wanting to leave, which mostly include the lack of interesting or challenging work.
I haven’t made up my mind yet, which is why I am posting this article. I am hoping you’ll be able to help me find a more challenging position. For the last two and a half years, I have been responsible for publications, communication materials, website content, conferences, and communication between international organizations. I have helped with advertising, writing, and editing of technical documents. I am capable of using Adobe Suites and other editing software and I know basic HTML and website maintenance. I would consider myself a content marketer. I enjoy writing articles about marketing, travel, brands, and social media. I am capable of writing about any topic and I am looking for a job which would allow me to create content for a company or for multiple clients. Below is a break down of what I am looking for in a new position.
Content marketing includes any content that is produced and distributed to your target audience. This can include blogs, e-books, infographics, webinars, videos, interviews, podcasts, and more. I am looking for a job that will allow me to create new content and re-purpose old content. This can be in-house for a company/brand or in an agency for clients. On a day to day schedule, I would like to spend about 3 hours working on content.
Social Media Marketing
I enjoy social media marketing and I think it goes hand-in-hand with content marketing. There is a lot of overlap with both areas of marketing. Creating content is great, but if nobody sees the content, it is a waste of time to produce. I think paid and organic social traffic is important for all brands. I would like to spend about 2 hours a day managing social media accounts and posting interesting content on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.
With the new restrictions on organic reach, paid ad campaigns on social media are becoming the only way to reach and engage your audience. Although not as interesting as creating content and posting to social media sites, paid ad campaigns are important for any brand. I am interested in managing and optimizing ad campaigns on social media and search engines. Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines are important drivers of web traffic and well developed ad campaigns are needed to reach larger audiences.
Email Marketing (CRM)
Email marketing is often overlooked, but is still one of the best sources for sales and traffic for businesses that manage and maintain an email list. I am interested in managing a monthly or weekly email newsletter. I think many companies are not using their lists and CRM systems to the fullest. Spending an hour or 30 minutes a day to curate interesting articles or compelling copy is a great way to provide value to your email lists and clients.
Everyone needs to get out of the office now and then. I would also be interested in helping with trade shows, conferences, and marketing events. I have presented in front of large audiences, CEOs, and high ranking government officials. I am capable of presenting company information and interacting with potential clients.
These are all the other things that don’t fall nicely into the above categories. This can include basic website maintenance, client relationship management, one time tasks, etc. I am willing to help out in any way necessary to complete tasks on time and within budget. I consider myself a team player and I am willing to help out when ever needed.
I know how to use Adobe Creative Suite 6 and I can also use different editing software, but this is not my strongest area. I am willing to learn more if the right job required it, but I am a person that thinks “work smarter, not harder.” In today’s world, it is easier to outsource design work or better to hire a professional for this role. Using a marketing coordinator to complete design work is not the best use of resources. I can provide direction and concepts, but anything beyond simple editing should be left to a professional designer.
