Advertising Agencies in Beijing
Today, I will talk about advertising agencies in Beijing. I have previously talked about the top advertising agencies in China and it is one of my most popular posts. So, I thought I would get a little more specific and talk about the advertising agencies in Beijing. In the top 10 list about China, I talked about award winning advertising agencies but this list will be more about the options available.
Note: This list is not in any order of talent or skill.
According to their website: “Schwann is a Branding, Advertising and New Media creative agency based in Beijing, which has both a local and an international scope. We believe that advertising is just a way of understanding Branding, and that creativity is just another way of communication.”
They have worked with some impressive companies including Lane Crawford, Hertz, and Volkswagen to name a few. One thing I like about their website is the mix of Chinese and English. Some people might find it distracting but I think it showcases their ability.
Founded in 1996, AGENDA is one of Asia’s most awarded agencies with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Taipei, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. They focus on helping brands engage with the always-on consumer in a highly connected world, by applying best-in-class innovative ideas. As the leading full-service digital agency, their multi-disciplinary teams leverage creativity, data, social, media and multi-channels to provide end-to-end digital marketing solutions, producing effective and measurable results. AGENDA is a Wunderman company.
I will let them speak for themselves because they say it very well and I don’t think I could say it any better. “Bloc Productions is a Beijing based agency that represents a roster of internationally renowned photographers, directors and stylists for the China and Asian advertising and fashion market. Our talent is supported by a locally based, multi-lingual production team who are capable of producing anything from simple one-day studio shoots to 30 day multiple location car shoots. Our clients include Adidas, BMW, Braun, Coca Cola, Kappa, Li Ning, Motorola, Puma, Sony Ericsson, Sprite and numerous local brands.”
Lemonade Media is a full-service digital agency that can provide Strategy & Planning, Online Marketing, Web Development, Design & Creative, and E-Commerce & Database. Their website is easy to use and if you take a look at their work page, you can see that they are very creative and have worked with some pretty heavy hitters including Audi, HP, Barclays Bank, and United States Embassy. Just to name a few. They are worth checking out if you have any digital needs in your next campaign.
Next we will take a step away from digital and online marketing and take a look at e21. They specialize in Brand Marketing, Event Marketing, Interactive Marketing, Public Relations, Expos & Trade shows, and Strategic Marketing. They seem to be less focused on SEO/SEM and more focused on PR and event marketing. If you want a real physical presence in China then you should take a look at their event marketing and trade shows. They will get your product into the hands of consumers and provide you will the feedback needed to improve your marketing campaign in China.
J. Walter Thompson started its first China office in Beijing in 1990. Since then, J. Walter Thompson Beijing has witnessed and worked through China market’s dynamic growth and consumer changes. Such experience and learning has become a valuable asset of the agency in offering the best possible communication solution to marketers to meet the challenges of the world’s fastest growing market. Their client list is composed of a mixture of local and multinational clients like China Unicom, Yili, COFCO, Nokia and many more.
This is what they had to say about their Beijing office. “Perched near the city’s epic 3rd Ring Road, the Y&R Beijing office is rapidly becoming one of the most talked about agencies in the country. World class, not China class, is our approach to everything we do.” The part about “World class, not China class” made me laugh but also makes me think they are more focused on foreign companies. Y&R has offices just about everywhere and they are one of the bigger ad agencies. Their parent company is WPP so there is not much more to say about them.
PMG operates throughout Asia and they seem to focus on technology to deliver their clients message. They offer many services including “event management, technology solutions, logistics and fulfillment, translation, creatives, interactive marketing, channel/retail marketing and production management.” Their clients include HP, Amway, and Microsoft to name a few.
“Core Power Asia is a full service PR, Marketing, Branding & Media Consultancy firm specializing in action sports, consumer products, lifestyle, tourism, fashion, cultural arts and entertainment.” This company seems to be small but that is not a bad thing. Small often means more specialized and more clients focused. Their website is well designed and if you don’t have the million dollar budget than this kind of firm might be where you get the most for you money.
39 Degrees North is a design studio based in Beijing and they specialize in video production and motion graphics. Their website is not very impressive but they run an active blog where they showcase their work and other cool projects they are involved in. They have worked with some impressive companies including BMW and McDonalds. Check out their blog and website to find out more.
